Before changing podcast hosts, save an episode identity sheet

Record the identifiers of three existing episodes before a migration so you can compare the right fields afterwards.

Apple requires a persistent GUID for each episode. Treat that identifier as an identity record when comparing the old feed with the new one.

Make a small worksheet with one recent episode, one older episode and a trailer if you have one. For each, record the title, GUID and audio URL in separate columns. Save a dated copy of the public feed as well. The title helps you recognise the row; it is not a substitute for the identifier.

After following your host’s migration procedure, compare the same episodes in the destination feed. In an illustrative migration, a changed media address might be intentional while an unexpected GUID change deserves a question to the host. Do not bulk-edit identifiers merely to make the columns look tidy. Bring the before-and-after pair to support and ask which part of the migration produced the change.

Sources and editorial notes

A practical note prepared with AI assistance and checked against the linked source before scheduling. Examples are illustrative, not reports from a customer account. This is evergreen guidance, not a news announcement. The publication date records its release; the source-review date remains separate.
